Pakistan’s powerful military commanders are facing unusual criticism from opposition parties who have accused them of meddling in politics and toppling governments, intensifying the pressure on Khan’s pro-army administration.

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday said that he does not approve of the ‘item’ remark made by former Madhya Pradesh chief minister Kamal Nath against Imarti Devi. “Kamal Nath ji is from my party but personally, I don’t like the type of language that he used…I don’t appreciate it, regardless of who he is. It is unfortunate,” said Gandhi at a presser in Wayanad.

With the onset of the festival season, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said this is not the time to be careless as the novel coronavirus is still around and even a small negligence can dampen the festive spirit. “If you are careless and moving around without mask, you are putting yourself, children and the elderly at risk,” the PM said.
